A Few Reasons Why I Love Cincinnati

Today Brandon, Nicholas, and I were driving around Cincinnati running various errands for his school stuff, and I became amazed at how much I LOVE this place.  Granted, I've lived here almost 3/4 of my life, so it should feel like home.  However, the more I get to know about this place, the more I come to love it.  So, in no particular order...

1. Parks, Parks, and more Parks  Today we stopped in at Eden Park as we were traveling around.  Brandon and I went to the art museum here on our second date, so it holds some sentimental value for us.  Today we went to the Krohn Conservatory in the park, and it was so beautiful!  There was a (free!) live nativity display and all sorts of beautiful displays inside the building!  This is probably one of my favorite places in Cincinnati, and did I mention that the Conservatory and the art museum are free?  And Eden Park is just one of dozens of parks in the area!

2. Unique Neighborhoods  Also while driving around today, I noticed and appreciated the coolness that is Cincinnati.  With neighborhoods like Mt. Adams, Columbia Tusculum, and especially my little town of Mariemont, I never get bored touring the city!
Columbia Tusculum
Mariemont...just blocks away from our home!

3. A City With a View  I can't say enough about what incredible views Cincinnati has!  The skyline in cool, the river is cool, the bridges are cool!  And the views of these things from all the surrounding hills is just amazing!

4. The Things to Do!  Let's see...King's Island, The Beach Waterpark, Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, The Museum Center, The Reds...  The list could just go on and on.

5. And of Course...the People  I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my favorite part of the city is the fact that my family is here and I've made so many incredible friends here.
This may seem a bit enthusiastic, but we just had such a wonderful time today exploring places we've been many times before, and yet still held some mystery for us.  Thanks for indulging my little whim here!

  1. Sorry, I found your blog through the Richins, we met David while he attended MIIS the same time as my husband. But I grew up the suburbs of Cincy and your blog was great to see that some one else enjoys the city as well. I really miss it, eat some Gold Star for me!
