Okay, so I'm feeling only very slightly like a jerk for not posting or even mentioning in my last post about our busy week the fact that Brandon's birthday was last Saturday! We had lots of fun celebrating with him! My parents came over to our place for dinner and cake and presents. Brandon indulged my natural impulse to truly celebrate by allowing me to put up streamers and balloons and decorating a 3-layer cake! The cake was actually supposed to be a 2-layer cake, however, one of the layers broke apart. So, I baked another cake and made it a 3-layer one. I have discovered, unfortunately, that my cake decorating skills have slipped quite a bit; the airplane on his cake resembled a shark more than an airplane. Oh, and the store bought frosting tasted like balloons! But, it all came together, and we had fun! I'll add some photos of the festivities once we get our camera back from my parents--we left it at their home New Year's Ever! Go figure! For now you'll have to be satisfied with the fun internet animation!
In all seriousness, though, we are so happy that Brandon is in our family! We love him so much and are so grateful for all he does for us and adds to our home. Happy (Belated) Birthday, Sweetie!
We like you too Brandon. Sorry I didn't make a card, sounds like Rebecca was in the same boat as us. A little stressed from the Holidays and trying to keep everything under control? Sound about right? AGH! I think we might just make it after all...though I've had my doubts this past week.
