The past week has been full of ups and downs (
especially downs!) for Nicholas. Last Thursday was a very nice day outside, and Nicholas had new shoes he wanted to take for a test drive, so we decided to venture outside. While we were at the playground, Nicholas tripped on the blacktop, went down on his hands and knees, and then ever so slowly continued to topple over head-first into the blacktop. He didn't really make much of a fuss, but this did result in the first scrape to his forehead...at least his first scrape on Thursday. Fast forward only about two hours. Nicholas was wondering all over the kitchen, when he once again tripped and banged his forehead full-force on one of the kitchen chairs. This resulted in one heck of a bruise right between the eyes. After treating him to some tylenol and ice, our little guy needed a nap. When he woke up, we thought we'd take him outside again. With it being Thursday, I was watching my friend's son Luke. While we were outside, I was walking with Luke and Brandon was watching Nicholas.

Nicholas found this stick that resembled a child-sized sword, and Nicholas happened to even be holding it like a sword. We thought it was cute, took a few photos, and then encouraged him to put it down. Instead of putting it down, he fell on it. More scrapes to the forehead AND to his poor little nostrils. All weekend his nose was scabbed, which was rather freaky looking in addition to the runny nose he already had! What can I say, though? These things do happen, and he seems to be no worse off.
Awwww...poor Nicholas. Sounds familiar though, welcome to the world of littly boys!
ReplyDeletePoor guy! He looked a little scrappy the other day with all of his healing battle wounds. What a sweetie though! I hope he is conquering shoes, sticks, and the outdoors in general by the time the baby comes!
ReplyDeleteSounds like those new shoes may have been a part of the problem. Hopefully he has gotten used to walking in them and has had fewer accidents. I love little boys cause they always just seem to pick themselves up and try again, Nicholas is no exception. He's adorable.
