Nicholas has made no secret of the fact that he's been in a bad mood lately. I'm thinking it's a combination of allergies, teething, diaper rash, and tummy aches, but treating any of those things hasn't seemed to really help his temper. Yesterday at lunch time he suddenly decided that he was done with me helping him with his spoon, and he started to scream. I figured that rather than fight it, I would just go ahead and let him start using his spoon on his own.
Luckily my mother-in-law made Nicholas some nice, BIG bibs when he started eating solids because the resulting mess could have been much worse. We had raspberry yogurt, mac and cheese, and peaches all over the place, but his smile says it all! He was finally happy! This morning's experience with yogurt wasn't nearly as bad, either, so he may be figuring the whole coordination thing out...I hope!
What a cute little face! He definitely is an "I CAND DO IT MYSELF!!!" kind of guy!
ReplyDeleteHahahahha. I can totally picture Nicholas giving you a hard time for helping him and you giving him the spoon back with a look on your face. I don't know why, but when I read that story, a picture of you two came clear into my mind!
ReplyDeleteHe's such a cutie. I think it's great that he wants to use the spoon by himself.
When Brandon was a little tyke one of his favoite sayings was "I do it my telf". Nicholas is only following in his fathers footsteps. Becca, what you see your husband do, lookout, you will probably see your son do the same. Love Grandpa
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little boy he is! You will really appreciate his independence when Renae comes along!
