Yesterday I gave a talk at church, and I think it went pretty well. Afterwards, the stake patriarch, who is in our ward, came up to me and told me he thought that I did a great job. I had mentioned in the talk that I'm a pretty shy person, but he told me he didn't think I seemed shy at all. I thought that was sweet, and I told him that my husband has helped me leave some of my shyness behind me. The patriarch, without missing a beat, said, "Yeah...you're husband's not shy at all!" For those of you who don't know Brandon well, this may not seem all that funny, but my husband continually amazes me with how shy he ISN'T. In fact, I often tease him about how UNreserved he is.

Last night, Nicholas and I were watching "Dirty Jobs". By the end of the show, I told Nicholas that I wasn't allowed to watch that show again until I was done with morning sickness. Nicholas had no idea what I was talking about, but he sure giggled every time I had to close my eyes!

Renae has been learning about a dozen new words a day recently. In fact, she's not only learning new words, but she seems to be picking up some of my phrases (yikes!). Now, whenever I tell her to come see me, she just gives me a little attitude and says, "Minute, Mommy!" I think I must tell my kids I'll be there in "just a minute" a little too often.

Nicholas has also been picking up some new phrases, though I'm not sure where he gets some of his. The other day we were going to do color or play some game, and he came up to me and said, "Let's do this thing!" (And then he ran like a crazy kid around our dining room table...)

We'd been missing our checkbook for over a week, and I kept insisting to Brandon that I gave it to him at church to fill out our tithing stuff, but that he never gave it back. We checked all through his scriptures and clothes that he wore that day, but found nothing. He was a good sport, and even though he thought he might have given it back to me, perhaps he was wrong and that the checkbook must have been left at church or in the van. So, I was walking around pretty smug all week because I KNEW that I hadn't lost it. Then I looked through the pockets of my scripture case several days later (you know, just in case), and there it was. Brandon had a pretty good laugh at my expense.
