We trimmed our tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving. This was really the first year that both kids were really into helping out rather than just playing with the ornaments.
Renae figured that the Christmas Tree Skirt was really supposed to be worn as a skirt...who was I to tell her the truth when she was so cute twirling around???
The kids and I unwrapped the ornaments while Brandon was assembling our tree. We only ran into problems when I'd tell Renae to be careful with the fragile ornaments she'd be swinging around, and she'd tell me in return, "I am!"
Bailey was "helping" out, too, by sniffing everything as it came out of the box. This Christmas marked one year since Bailey joined our family.
The kids were both really good at putting the ornaments on the lower branches...
...however, they were not great at keeping them on the tree! I think we only lost about 5 ornaments this year, but they were meaningless ones, so I wasn't too frustrated.
Nicholas was the lucky kid who got to put the angel on the tree this year...with a little help from Brandon.
We then tried to take a family picture in front of the tree afterwards. I'm not sure why this pregnant lady thought that sitting on the floor and being the one to set the self-timer was such a good idea. None of our pictures ever worked out...and we took about 7 of them. In most of them, Bailey was a complete blur and the kids weren't looking at the camera.
The one time that Bailey looked PERFECT in the picture, the kids were not being cooperative. So much for a family Christmas picture this year!
Looks like a lot of fun.
