Brooks Family Highlights: Seth's Baby Blessing

Seth's Baby Blessing day was such a sweet experience. I wish I had blogged about/written about this sooner because the memories of that day are not as clear as they should be.

I had wanted to get Seth his own blessing outfit, separate from the one Nicholas had worn. Nicholas wore the same outfit that Brandon and all of his brothers had been blessed in, but I wanted for Seth to have his own to keep. Hardly any stores around here carried any nice occasion clothes for baby boys that didn't cost an arm and a leg or didn't look too frilly. Finally, at Target I was able to find this cute overalls outfit. Nicholas, being the red head he is, looked really cute in his green shirt and overalls. I think it was a good choice. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a photo of just him on his blessing day, so this one of Marissa (Brandon's sister) holding him is one of the best photos of his outfit. And it's also a really cute photo of the two of them together!

His blessing was on March 13, 2011. It was a Daylight Savings Sunday, so we were a little concerned about everyone showing up on time, but we didn't need to worry...everyone showed up in plenty of time! In the circle with Brandon were his dad, my dad, and my brothers Scott and Chris. There may have been members of the bishopric there, too, but I can't remember. My mom took quick notes during the blessing about the things said in his blessing so that we can have a record of it. I just remember thinking/feeling that Seth has such an amazing, powerful little spirit, and that I felt/still feel completely honored to be his mother.

After the blessing, we all met up at my parents' home for a lunch. It was a nice, low-key affair. The kids all had fun playing with each other, and Seth was cooperative in letting everyone hold him...this was a big deal at this time because he was very clingy in wanting me to always be holding him.
