We had a Hales Family Reunion in Branson, Missouri this year. It was fun seeing so many members of the extended Hales family who I haven't seen since maybe 1999??? We had a great time!
I thought our rooms were pretty sweet. My mom got my little family of 4 (Brandon didn't come until the last day) a two room suite. Which ended up being one large one bedroom suite PLUS one small bedroom suite. This meant that for my three kids and me, we had 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms, 2 dining areas, 2 bathrooms, 2 washers and dryers, 2 king size beds, 2 pull-out sofas, 4 tvs, 2 fireplaces, 1 jacuzzi tub, and a balcony. Not bad, eh?
One day, my parents, siblings and their families, and my crew went to a cavern. Little Seth would not relax (ie stop screaming), so we didn't go in the cave, but from what I understand, everyone enjoyed it...even my claustrophobic mom! Afterwards, the kids got to go "mining" for gems!
The day that Brandon flew in, we went on some pontoons in the lake there. I swam for exactly 2 minutes, preferring to just chill in the boat. My kids and Brandon (& the rest of the group) enjoyed the lake water, though!
In the evenings we'd get together as a large group and play games. My hands were always busy with the kids, so I don't have too many photos...I'll have to get some from my mom. My aunt Sue put together a game for the kids so that they could learn a little of our family history. I enjoyed listening to the stories (when I was catching up with my cousins!).
While the kids were playing, the adults were also taking a walk down memory lane and were sharing stories, too. I only caught a few of those.
I also had to include this photo because it was so funny. The first morning we were there, we managed to go to breakfast the same time as my aunt Cathy and uncle Jack. Nicholas took a liking to Cathy, and since none of her grandkids were able to be there, she had no problem being a grandma to Nicholas! He sure loved being spoiled by her! He had her refilling his breakfast plate so often I wasn't sure his belly could contain any more!
I wish we were able to see our Hales side of the family more often, but I sure love the times when we're able to get together!
