The Best Medicine

I've rediscovered this week just how much fun pregnancy...isn't.  I am truly grateful, though, that I am pregnant, and I fully acknowledge just how much of a blessing this pregnancy is.  That doesn't mean that I relish morning sickness, raging hormones, and inexplicable exhaustion.  Generally I feel that I am pretty okay, but yesterday was one heck of a day.  I woke up fully intending to do the dishes, laundry, and clean the house, but I just couldn't stay awake!  I kept dozing off, only to awaken to Nicholas pulling my hair or playing with one of his many musical toys.  After his nap (and mine), I gave Nicholas a bottle.  While I was resting on the couch, Nicholas looked over at me, and toddled on his little legs over to be with me.  He crawled up on the couch, just to lay down next to me!  This may not seem that amazing to some, but this little boy rarely likes to be cuddled because he's always too busy exploring everything in sight.  Just having him rest his head on my shoulder while drinking his bottle was one of the sweetest things for me, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. We were watching Barney at the time (not my favorite show), but the hormones kicked in, and the beauty of the moment was a bit overwhelming.  I started to sob!  Nicholas was just too sweet, though, and continued to give me hugs and kisses, until I could compose myself.  He may be a little stinker more often than I would like, but I am so grateful to have him in my life.

  2. so, I don't know if you're aware, but I'm an expert on morning sickness.....hahaha...TOTALLY kidding....but I've heard (that's why I put that beginning) that ginger helps with morning sickness? Not sure how valid it is - but I do know it helps when you're nautious (sp?) - just thought it might help?

  4. Nicholas is so sweet and I would consider that a mommy paycheck! I was VERY tired during my second pregnancy, so I understand how you feel.
