We had a pretty decent Valentine's Day around here, despite not being able to spend much of it together. After Brandon left for school in the morning, I was feeling pretty well and made some Rice Krispy Treats in various heart shapes. Fortunately I was able to get the kitchen cleaned up and get myself dressed before Nicholas woke up. After he stopped wiggling all over the place, I was able to finally get him dressed, too! His Grandma Brooks made him a very cute "Baby's First Valentine's Day" sweatshirt. He kept walking around slapping his little belly to feel the embroidery on it!
Then I spent much of the rest of day chasing after two very energetic little boys! On Thursdays I watch my friend Kathleen's little boy Luke. He's about a year and a half old, and is perhaps the most mysterious person in the world to Nicholas. All Nicholas wanted to do was to climb all over Luke, who, fortunately, discovered that if he climbed onto the couch, Nicholas couldn't follow after him. At least for now. Generally they're pretty nice to each other, though, so we all thoroughly enjoyed our time together.

In the middle of nap time, the doorbell rang, startling me out of my own personal little rest. I answered the door to find my adorable husband standing there on the doorstep with a beautiful basket of flowers. He had skipped his second class to come home early and was able to stop by the floral shop on the way home. Then as soon as he walked in the door he had to take a test online, followed by his online class! That was our romantic lunch!

I just want to tell both of my Valentines (and my little kumquat-sized Valentine) just how much I love each of them! Happy Valentine's Day!
