Baby Projects!

As we are now in the home stretch for the birth of our little Renae, the nesting bug has hit me.  I want to clean everything, get organized, and finish up lots of projects.  In the midst of all this, I have had the urge to make a few things for Renae.

I made Nicholas a baby blanket when I was pregnant with him, and it turned out really cute.  It's fun to see him cuddle up with it now.  So, I decided to do the same for Renae.  I picked out some really cute pink and brown material from Hobby Lobby (one of my FAVORITE stores).  Brandon isn't really into the whole pink/brown thing (or the blue/brown thing, for that matter), but he's being really supportive.

I have also always wanted to make a blessing gown for any daughter I may have.
When we found out that we were having a girl, I was so excited to be able to finally do this.  (My apologies to Nicholas and any other boys we may have...dresses are just more fun to sew, so you guys get store-bought stuff.)

Neither the blanket nor the dress is anywhere near professional-quality, but I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out!  My next project to work on is for Nicholas.  I want to make him one of those I-Spy bags.  I'm not sure he'll have the patience to play with it for a while, but he's constantly surprising me, and I think it would be fun to have on hand!

  3. I, personally, love the whole pink brown combination. (I guess you noticed that from what I was wearing at church on Sunday). The blanket turned out wonderfully and the dress is absolutely adorable.

  4. You're the daughter my mom always wanted! With four daughters, none of us caught the sewing bug.
