House Hunters, Part 3. And the winner is....

Well, as is often the case with the show House Hunters, the one that seems to be the frontrunner, is not the one chosen!  House #3 seems to have been the most popular choice, but we ended up going with House #1.  We've reached an agreement with the seller, signed a contract, signed loan papers, and are having the house inspected tomorrow.  At that point we will be able to decide if House #1 will definitely be ours.  The only way we'd walk away now is if the home inspection comes back with some major problems.  We didn't go with House #3 because it was too small for us, with possibly even less living space than what we have now, despite how beautiful it was.  We also wanted something that we could improve a bit, and there wasn't much room for improvement with House #3.  We didn't go with House #2, even though it was the largest with 3 bedrooms, because the third bedroom wasn't very large and was in a very separate section of the home than the other two, the kitchen was about half the size of what we have now and didn't have appliances, and the backyard didn't have much shade or a fence.  Additionally, the neighbor's home looked straight out of the Addam's Family, complete with broken windows, a creepy overgrown yard, and shady characters.  Okay, I don't know that they are shady characters, but it just seemed like that kind of place.  We're excited about House #1, though.  I'm especially excited to get my hands on the yard...there's a waterfall emptying out into a small pond in the backyard, and I can tell that at one point someone really put a lot of money into the landscaping there.  I've got lots to work with!  Wish us luck!

  1. Awesome! House number 1 was my favorite, but I didn't think you'd buy it because you didn't like the decor and it's only 2 bedrooms. I'm so excited for ya! What a cute home! :)

  2. We're so happy for you guys! What exciting changes between having another baby and buying a beautiful home! We hope all goes well. Our favorite part of buying a home was knowing that we're no longer making equity for someone else. It's a good feeling!

  3. yay! I liked #1 :)

I hope you get movers, though! Even if you move after you have your baby - it would probably be a killer! :)
