Brandon and I are so excited because we finally decided to just go ahead and start looking to buy a house since our lease will be up on our townhouse in 3 months. As I've been getting ready for Renae to be born, I've also discovered that our space here is quite limited, and we're already tripping over things all the time as it is! Last week we decided to call about a house that we pass all the time that is just around the corner from where we live right now. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that it is within our price range. We contacted a realtor (the wife of one of Brandon's friends in the guard), and she is amazing! She took us to see the home on Wednesday, and while it needs some cosmetic work on the inside (the current owners must have been going for a Tuscany/Venetian theme with the grapevine motif and pillars in the kitchen and LR), we see lots of potential in this home. We're going to look at a few more on Saturday, but we would like to put in an offer on a home by the end of September. We'll keep everyone updated! Here's a few photos of the house we looked at a few days ago:
The front exterior

The kitchen...we think the owners put all the effort at renovations here.

The funny columns separating the LR from the dining room. The wallpaper border here is of a bunch of cherubs.
That looks really nice - and plus that means you're moving (slightly) closer to us, so you can benefit from our cool aura :-D
ReplyDeleteIf you want to bounce any ideas off of me, I have a bit of experience in this and am happy to help.
Sigh . . . I have always dreamed of living in Mariemont. I agree it needs some work; however, I love the house. Can I move in with you? :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Good luck with the house hunt. Oh, and I can't believe you only have 16 days to go! I'm sure you're more than ready though.
ReplyDeleteIt's really cute!!! Home ownership is great!!! It's a TON of work but in the long right the benefits really are wonderful!!! If you get this one don't try to do too much right off when the baby comes because the added stress just isn't worth it. We really got ourselves in a hole trying to do more than we had time or money for with ours and it's really put a strain on life. I'm sure you guys will do what's right for you though!!! We home you have a fun time hunting!!! Keep us posted. We're excited for you!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It looks like a really cute house. Good luck with everything!
ReplyDeletenot going to lie, i'm a bit jealous! It is georgeous! (sp?)
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute. Love the stained glass. Looking forward to seeing pics of the other houses you like.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just the picture, but the interior doesn't look all that bad. I like the kitchen cupboards!
