Fun With Friends!

Late last month, Brandon and I took our little family to Sawyer Point in Cincinnati and met up with our friend, Sarah, and her two kids, Cate and Aidan, for a picnic and some playtime at the park. We used to live next door to them at our last place and have been good friends with them ever since. We like to joke, though, that we never really did anything until we moved away. (We lived next door to them for a year and a half...plenty of time to do something!)
Learning to walk! She loved being able to walk around so much here.
Best Buds, Nicholas and Aidan! Aidan really is one of the only kids Nicholas never really is competitive with and can just have fun playing with him!
Flying Pig!
I love that Brandon captured this photo of Nicholas! I guess I'm destined to always be surrounded by guys who like bridges (Dad, Brandon, and now Nicholas)!
Brandon really wanted to play in the splash pool area at the park, but thought he'd take Nicholas with him so that no one gave him any funny looks. Nicholas, however, had a different idea. He doesn't like playing in water that could potentially get in his eyes, so he was content to play with the water flowing over the wall.
Brandon then had to try to get Aidan to play in the water with him. It worked for the most part. At least he was able to get wet!
While we were at Sawyer Point, we also ran into my old roommate, Jamie, and her family! She and I were roommates 9 years ago, but her husband's medical training has brought them to Cincinnati for a while. Funny story: a week after we saw them at Sawyer Point, we posted our changing table/dresser on craigslist. We had several people contact us about it, but the one who ended up getting it turned out to be Jamie's husband's sister and her husband. She and her husband live in our old ward in Cincinnati and he is going to school with a guy that Brandon is in our ward's YM presidency with. Funny, small world!

  1. Love the picture of you and your friend pushing your strollers. Can I just tell you how jealous I am of your long skinny legs?
