You Can Tell Brandon's Gone When...

...I find time to blog (he's usually using the computer for homework).

...I get to watch unlimited chick movies, like Jane Austen flicks and New Moon (he'd rather watch anything else).

...I get more than 6 hours of sleep (I'm not waiting for him to finish studying before I go to bed).

...the kids sleep in until 7 or 8 (he's not waking them up when he gets up at 6).

...the number of dishes and loads of laundry I have to do decreases immensely (no uniforms to wash, no stacks of dishes hidden in our bedroom, by the computer, on top of the tv, or in his car that need to be washed).

...we don't have any meals more exciting than pizza, cold cereal, or spaghetti (actually, spaghetti is exciting because Brandon doesn't like pasta, but other than that, I don't feel like putting much effort into a meal that no one else will appreciate).

...I start a bunch of projects like stripping yucky paint from the trim in our kitchen and taking down yucky wallpaper in the bathroom (it keeps my mind off missing him).

...I am never without my phone (in case he calls).

(For those of you who don't know, Brandon is on a short deployment to Turkey and will be back Easter weekend.  He does get to call home for free every day for about 15 minutes, though!  We're doing fine around here, but miss him and our regular schedule like crazy!  So, I look for the positives, like more sleep and chick flicks, to help the next few weeks to pass more quickly!)

  4. Becca, You need to be careful about removing old paint. Sone of it has lead in it and it would be very bad for you and the kids. Love, Grandpa
