So, this part isn't funny, but I'm excited to share it...Nicholas went to church today for the first time wearing underwear! Potty training has finally sunk in with him and he has declared that using "the potty is so much fun!" I'm much less stressed these days as a result.
Now for the funny story! Our neighbor gave us some ride-on toys for the kids to play with. Each of the little bikes/cars has a seat that can be pulled up to store stuff in. Well, last week I had our kids outside in their swimsuits so that they could slide down our little slide into the kiddie pool. At one point, I noticed Renae doing a little dance, which is pretty typical of Nae Nae, so I didn't think anything of it...but I should have. I turned my attention to Nicholas for a moment and then back to Renae. When I turned back, she had gone over to one of these little cars, lifted the secret compartment seat, sat down, and was going potty. Outside. In a toy car. GREAT. That's what hoses and a little bleach are for, right?! At least she recognized that she needed to go, and I must say that I admire her creativity!
And, yes, I did take a photo of her. Judge me if you will, but I thought it was funny.
Yay! It's nice when they finally "get it." Then you wonder why you stressed so much (at least I did). How nice that both of your kids seem to be getting it at the same time!

ReplyDeleteWord of caution for the future...... Haidan has peed in a tuperware little toy box (empty) in his room because he was too lazy to go to the bathroom. He has also gone on the back deck, again too lazy to come indoors.
