Palmyra/Kirtland Trip-Day 1

We went on a trip to Palymra, NY and Kirtland, OH with my family (parents, 2 brothers and their families).  It was a great trip, but out of necessity, I am breaking it up into a few days!  These are from our drive to Buffalo, where we stayed the first night of our trip.

We headed up to Mt. Sterling, OH first to drop off Bailey dog at Brandon's parents' home to stay with them while we were gone.  I took this photo in our driveway while I was (impatiently) waiting for Brandon to get out the door!

We met up with my family in Mt. Sterling to caravan with them up to New York.  My brother Chris and his wife Jinha thought that riding in our van would be more comfortable than riding in the back of my parents' car, and we were glad to have them with us...they took great care of our kids while we were on the road!

We stopped at a rest area for lunch, and we pretty much had to keep the hand sanitizer handy with Renae...she had just been playing with cigarettes she'd found on the ground!  Ewww!

Rather than eat, Nicholas, Emily, and Renae thought that it would be more fun to run around and climb light poles.  My mom tried to play with them, and Emily informed her that climbing was just for kids!

When we got to Buffalo, we decided to have a picnic dinner on the shore of Lake Erie.  The sand felt great on our toes, and apparently it tasted pretty great, too!

Emily and Nicholas wanted to make sand angels.

Family Photo!

Nicholas sure had an obsession with his little cousin Ella's cheeks.  At least she was (usually) a good sport!

  1. I'm a little jealous you and Brandon got to ride in the front together. I had to ride in the back with the boys on our family vacation to entertain Ben. Luke was lost in video land. Gotta love the DVD players for cars:)
And I have heard from a friend, who heard from a nurse eating sand builds immunity:)
