Big Changes for the Brooks

I'm going to keep this brief because I'm EXHAUSTED, but I thought I should probably update this blog before all of our exciting news is outdated.  So, here goes:

1. It's a boy!  Baby boy Brooks will be joining our family roughly around November 19th.  To say that we are thrilled would be an understatement!  He's healthy and must have a lot of hair because heartburn has been a beast!  My morning sickness, while definitely present during the first trimester, hasn't persisted like it has in past pregnancies.  Oh, and I haven't passed out or lost my peripheral vision once!  I think we have a name picked out, so I'll get a name poll up soon like I did with the other kids.

2. We're moving to Portland, OR!  About 3 weeks ago we got word that there was a relocation possibility within Brandon's company, so we jumped on it.  I'm not sure we expected everything to go as quickly as it has since he's already out there most of the time, but we are excited!  And it looks like we found a house out there to rent already, so we have a lot to be grateful for.

I think that's it for our big news, but I think both are sufficiently exciting!  Right now I'm working like a crazy woman to get our house in shape to sell.  When we found out we were going to be having a baby, we started doing some renovations on our house.  When we found out we would be moving, we had to speed that process up quite a bit so that we wouldn't be trying to sell a partially renovated house.  Right now I have a love-hate relationship with my home because some days it gets the better of me, but mostly I'm grateful for the memories and friends we've made here.
